Our Story
Founded in 2022 by Creative Wellness Director Kim Webb, Canopy Studios was born out of a desire to make art accessible, healing, and community-driven. Housed in a welcoming heritage home at 1723 9th St SW in Calgary’s Lower Mount Royal, Canopy has quickly become a hub where emerging artists and curious participants alike can explore creativity free from commercial pressure.
At Canopy, we’re on a mission to:
Support Emerging Artists: By providing affordable, commission-free exhibition space and professional promotional support, we help new voices find their audience.
Foster Inclusivity & Safety: From our open community art projects to dedicated wellness workshops, everyone is welcome - no art background required.
Unlock the Healing Power of Art: Through guided workshops, retreats, and expressive exhibitions like, we create environments where art-making becomes a tool for reducing stress, building empathy, and shifting perspective.
We envision a world where creativity is recognized not just as an art form, but as an essential component of collective and individual health.
