"Back & Forth: A Collaborative Painting Experience"
Step into a playful and freeing creative experience where control is loosened and curiosity leads the way.
In this collaborative workshop, each participant begins their own painting before passing it to their partner. Throughout the session, paintings are exchanged several times—inviting you to respond, adapt, and build on each other’s marks in an evolving visual conversation.
This process is designed to spark creativity, encourage trust, and gently challenge the instinct to hold on too tightly to outcomes. As layers unfold, so does a deeper sense of openness, spontaneity, and connection.
No experience is necessary—just a willingness to explore.
Come with a partner of any kind: a friend, spouse, or creative companion.
Expect laughter, surprise, and the unexpected beauty that emerges when we create together.
Ages 18+
Fee: $50.00 per person

Meet the Artists
Afshan Khan
is a self-taught abstract artist based in Rocky View County, Alberta, inspired by the beauty of Canadian landscapes and the emotional depth of colour. Working primarily with acrylics and expressive palette knife techniques, she creates richly textured pieces that capture light, movement, and atmosphere.
Her work is an intuitive exploration of nature—where florals and landscapes emerge as impressions shaped by memory, feeling, and experience. Through layered compositions and thoughtful colour palettes, Afshan invites viewers into moments of stillness and reflection.
Her art encourages a personal connection, allowing each viewer to discover their own sense of wonder within the work.
Allison Dawrant
is a mixed media artist from Calgary, Alberta. After working as an RN for many years, she shifted her focus to art in 2020, choosing a more intentional life centered on creativity and family. Her work is grounded in the search for quiet moments and the enjoyment of the process. She shares her inspiration and insights through unedited YouTube videos.
Neil and Tracy of ARTrophy
are a husband and wife artistic duo whose work is rooted in connection, to each other, to the land, and to the unseen layers within every landscape. Painting side by side on the same canvas, they merge two perspectives into a singular, fluid expression that feels both intuitive and alive.
Inspired by the vast terrain of the Canadian Rockies, from Canmore and Banff to the Bow Valley, Ya Ha Tinda, Highway 93, and the Foothills, their paintings honour the spirit of place while transforming it. Familiar horizons dissolve into movement, light, and line, revealing landscapes not only as they appear, but as they are felt.
Each piece is an invitation: to slow down, to look again, and to discover something extraordinary.
Yevheniia Vasylkova
is an emerging Ukrainian visual artist based in Airdrie, Alberta. Her work explores experiences of displacement, trauma, and mental health issues using them as catalysts to investigate the healing potential of artistic expression. She engages with these themes through watercolour, collage, interactive art, and community-focused workshops that invite dialogue, connection, and reflection.
